Trite. (well-worn, common, cliched) To become trite is considered unattractive but to write about what is trite can be quite funny. Tritedotcom's obvious tongue-in-cheek approach to light banter is for entertainment purposes only. Please do not become confused (or you'll be banned from the latte counter) about what we are doing. Tritedotcom is an e-zine aimed at Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Y'ers who need a laugh at the end of the day. So keep this in mind: It's better to laugh at your boss rather than shoot flaming arrows at his or her head. (Easier on the wallet, too.) I am currently looking for writers to submit humorous articles and quaint short stories, no longer than 500 words in length, to the e-zine Tritedotcom. Opinions and feelings abound in VIGNETTE and CLOSER LOOK submissions, which are 200 words or less. Interesting, non-pornographic artwork will also be considered for publication. VIGNETTE Changes by Martin Combs Sometimes it's really hard to be a man. When I'm standing in the grocery check-out line, every magazine seems to address the needs of the woman but there is no one to speak for me. For instance. My girlfriend decided to paint our bedroom blood red. She didn't ask my advice until after the deed was done. Now, after we make love I get to stare up a the creep show called a bedroom ceiling every night. Sometimes I think about leaving her but if I go, there is no turning back. I'd have to learn to like another woman's touch and I don't think I'm ready for that. Even if she does paint the bedroom blood red without asking first. But I never see these types of issues addressed in men's magazines. |
