Tina didn't see the fall yet to come.
"Peter is the perfect lover but sometimes when I want to wind down by myself, he rejects me and feel bad," she said.
What Tina didn't know are the signs of a troubled relationship partner.
Peter confided in Tina that he was abused as a child and that he never really mended those fences before heading into adulthood. So he brought the pain of the past into their future. Without knowing what to look for, Tina blamed Peter for emotions that were unresolved.
Tina and Peter are now in couple's counseling with Peter attending separated counseling sessions to heal his broken past. He said some feelings he didn't feel comfortable sharing with Tina.
